With more academic majors and hands-on opportunities than any other private research university of comparable size, it’s no wonder why the University of Miami is ranked in the nation’s top tier. As a UM parent, you take pride in knowing that your child has access to unparalleled learning experiences. Welcome to generations of UM family supporters.

    "The Keitelmans"

As the parent of a college student, you play an important role in your child’s choice of university and in supporting his or her education. This is a time in your life that brings new experiences, major milestones, and sometimes daunting challenges. The Parents Program also administers the Parents Fund, the arm of the Office of Annual Giving that’s supported by UM parents just like you.

About half of all UM undergraduates receive need-based financial assistance. The Parents Fund supports scholarships that enable the UM campus to remain a vibrant mosaic of cultural, racial, and economic backgrounds-the optimal environment for student growth.

No matter how much you give, your participation makes you a partner in an entire community that’s committed to helping all Miami Hurricanes be the best students, professors, and world citizens they can be. What a great way to show your family the importance of philanthropy!

James W. McLamore’s name is synonymous with philanthropy and service. His incredible commitment helped to transform the University of Miami. Alumni and parents of the University honor the legacy of James W. McLamore by making leadership annual contributions that touch every area of the University.

Replacing the President’s Circle, alumni and parents become members of the James W. McLamore Society by making leadership annual gifts of $1,000 or more, to anywhere within the University, renewed each fiscal year. These resources fund many initiatives including student scholarships, attracting and retaining outstanding faculty, expanding innovative academic programs, delivering groundbreaking research and health care, maintaining and growing our exceptional facilities, and solidifying our reputation as a force in collegiate athletics as well as the performing and visual arts.

Members of the James W. McLamore Society are greatly appreciated and recognized throughout the year for their support. Benefits include invitations to exclusive University receptions and events, access to community and business leaders, a personal liaison to the University, and an annual thank–you gift. Donors may join the McLamore Society at the following levels:
    Philanthropist $25,000+
    Benefactors $10,000 to $24,999
    Partners $5,000 to $9,999
    Friends $2,500 to $4,999
    Associates $1,000 to $2,499

"Through the Parents Council we became aware of UM's focus on constantly improving academic and extracurricular programs, and we want to support the University's efforts in that direction. As parents of two 'Canes, we feel this is a way to express how happy our daughters are and how supportive we are of the great job UM's administration has been doing." –The Echeverria Family
