As the parent of a college student, you play an important role in your child’s choice of university and in supporting his or her education. This is a time in your life that brings new experiences, major milestones, and sometimes daunting challenges. The Parents Program also administers the Parents Fund, the arm of the Office of Annual Giving that’s supported by UM parents just like you.
About half of all UM undergraduates receive need-based financial assistance. The Parents Fund supports scholarships that enable the UM campus to remain a vibrant mosaic of cultural, racial, and economic backgrounds-the optimal environment for student growth.
No matter how much you give, your participation makes you a partner in an entire community that’s committed to helping all Miami Hurricanes be the best students, professors, and world citizens they can be. What a great way to show your family the importance of philanthropy!

At the heart of every great university is a group of generous donors who lead by example. At the University of Miami, that group is the President’s Circle. Last year some 3,000 alumni, parents, and friends renewed their annual gifts of $1,000 or more, contributing more than $21 million to support many areas of critical need.

If your employer has a matching gift program, you can maximize the power of your gift to the University of Miami. Thousands of companies offer to match all or a percentage of employee contributions to charitable organizations, making the employer a partner in your personal philanthropy. Best of all, you are recognized by UM for the full amount of your gift plus any resulting corporate match.

"Through the Parents Council we became aware of UM's focus on constantly improving academic and extracurricular programs, and we want to support the University's efforts in that direction. As parents of two 'Canes, we feel this is a way to express how happy our daughters are and how supportive we are of the great job UM's administration has been doing." –The Echeverria Family
