The CCAS is an unmatched resource for the exploration and advancement of Cuban and Cuban-American history and culture. The center provides a number of academic programs, publications, and research to both students and the local community. ICCAS also acquires or encourages the acquisition of relevant books, documents, collections, and other materials for the Cuban Heritage Collection at the University of Miami Otto G. Richter Library. There are philanthropic opportunities at the center:

Courses: In addition to its regular academic offerings, the Institute sponsors non-credit seminars and courses for the community.

Annual Symposium on Cuba: A major conference on Cuban Studies held every fall semester. Past themes include national identity, religion and the state in Cuba.

Lecture Series: Programs featuring noted speakers on both current and historical topics.

Cuba Briefing Breakfast Series: Monthly event featuring special guests to discuss critical issues related to Cuba and Cuban topics (by invitation only).

Luncheons/ Seminars: Monthly series focusing on current topics.

Film Series: Annual Cuban film festival co-sponsored by ICCAS and the Bill Cosford Cinema (fall semester)
Music Festival: ICCAS sponsors two Cuban musical events annually, one classical and one popular music.
