SPECIAL NEEDS
The BankUnited Center is compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Please click here for specific information about accommodations for guests in wheelchairs or with other special needs.

GENERAL INFORMATION

SEATING:
The doors will open beginning one hour prior to the published start time of the ceremony. Seating in the ceremony is open, general seating. We recommend that large groups of guests wishing to sit together arrive early. Handicapped-accessible areas are reserved for guests with special needs. There is access to the seating areas via an elevator in our Special Needs/VIP Lobby Entrance (located right across from the parking lot).

PARKING
Parking areas are conveniently located near the BankUnited Center on the Coral Gables campus. Please refer to the color coded parking map for the location of your assigned parking area. Shuttle service will run to and from the Pavia Garage and the BankUnited Center. There will also be shuttle service to the University Center and the Bookstore on Stanford Drive. There will be no shuttle service at the Ponce de Leon Garage. Click here for Parking Map

Please be aware that the City of Coral Gables police will strictly enforce off-campus parking regulations.

GRADUATION REGISTRATION
The deadline to apply for May 2010 graduation and participate in commencement is Friday, March 5, 2010. Please see your academic advisor for more information.

CAP AND GOWN INFORMATION
The deadline to order your cap and gown is Friday, March 5, 2010. Contact your academic advisor if you missed the registration deadline. Regalia distribution for all graduates (except School of Law) will be at the Toppel Career Center on the Coral Gables campus on Tuesday, May 11, 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 12, 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Thursday, May 13, 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

PRINTED PROGRAMS
Commencement programs will be available at the entrance to the ceremony for guests and in the seating areas reserved for graduating students and participating faculty. The program, which will be individualized for each ceremony, lists the name, degree, and proper accolades for each graduate. It also contains biographical information on honorary degree recipients and speakers as well as a detailed sequence of events for each ceremony.

INVITATIONS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS
Personalized invitations and announcements information may be ordered directly from Herff-Jones, www.herffjones.com/college.

PHOTOGRAPHY AND VIDEOS
Photographs
At the commencement ceremonies, professional photographers from Bob Knight Photography, will photograph all graduates as they walk across the stage. A complimentary copy will be mailed to graduates, along with instructions to order additional prints.

Personal photographs may be taken only before and after the ceremony. No one is permitted in the aisles during the ceremony. All graduates will have the opportunity to take photos in front of a banner with the University of Miami seal, located outside the BankUnited Center.

Web Cast
The ceremonies will be web cast live.You must have Real Player installed to view the web cast. You may download Real Player at Real Player (www.real.com). Visit www.miami.edu on the day of the ceremony for more information.

DVD
