To University of Miami Students:

Next week one of the most important days in our nation’s calendar will be here: November 2, Election Day.

This is a critical period in our country—a time in which each and every one of your votes will make a difference. Many of the pundits are saying that these mid-term elections will be impacted by particularly low turnout at the polls, but you can prove them wrong.

You can make a difference. Whatever your political views, show them that young people today are passionate about issues that affect us locally, nationally, and internationally. Exercise your citizenship and participate in one of the fundamental privileges of our democracy.

Go to the polls and demonstrate that you care deeply about our future. It’s the bold and caring spirit that distinguishes you as ’Canes.

For those of you who live on campus and are locally registered to vote, the BankUnited Center is a polling place and will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. And for information on voting locations throughout Miami-Dade County, visit www.miamidade.gov/elections.
