Communication Week to Feature Guest Speakers, Film Screenings, and Panel Discussions
The School of Communication will kick off Communication Week 2011 on Monday, February 14, with this year’s theme focusing on the next 25 years of communication. Panel discussions on a variety of topics, remarks by a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, and the screening of a 1926 silent film that featured an all African-American cast are just some of the highlights. | more

Rosenstiel School Collaborating with CCMI on Study of Ocean Heating and Cooling Cycles
With the recent installation of four high-resolution sensors in the shallow waters off the Cayman Islands, scientists from UM’s Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science are partnering with the Central Caribbean Marine Institute to develop models of how the surface layer of the ocean cools and heats. | more |

Thurer, B and Donald Carlin Professor of Thoracic Surgical Oncology, with the James W. McLamore Outstanding Service Award; and Steven G. The Miami Dolphins presented Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, part of UHealth-University of Miami Health System, with a check on February 3 for more than $500,000—proceeds from the inaugural Dolphins Cycling Challenge, a two-day, 170-mile ride that was coordinated by the Miami Dolphins Foundation and took place last November. | more |
