Whitely for a celebration of the center’s expansion and 15th anniversary from 4 to 6 p.m. Put on your workout clothes and be one of the first to exercise in the new fitness room. Stem Cell Researchers Embark on New Clinical Trial
Stem cell researchers at the Miller School’s Interdisciplinary Stem Cell Institute are preparing to embark on another research milestone: the first clinical trial in the nation comparing autologous stem cells to donor stem cells for patients with dilated cardiomyopathy, a condition that causes congestive heart failure and is a major cause of death and disability. | more

Coral Gables Campus Phone Numbers to be Unmasked on March 15

The Coral Gables campus telephone system currently displays fictitious numbers when faculty, staff, and students place calls from University phones to phone numbers outside of the University. These fictitious numbers are “masking” the telephone number of the phone from which the call is initiated. Effective March 15, the current fictitious phone numbers for the Coral Gables campus will be replaced by the phone’s correct telephone number for all outbound off-campus calls. | more

Women’s Basketball Team Hosts Florida State Tonight
The 12th-ranked University of Miami women’s basketball team is undefeated at home this season and is riding a 23-game home-winning streak as they continue their march toward the ACC and NCAA Tournaments. Catch them in action tonight, February 24 at 7 p.m., when they play their final home game of the season against the No. 14th-ranked Florida State Seminoles. | more

    Using duct tape as support straps, a group of University of Miami College of Engineering students demonstrated their engineering prowess on February 22, turning their fellow students into human wallpaper. The Duct Tape Stick-Up competition was part of the 60th annual Engineers Week, which is being celebrated on the Coral Gables campus all this week with other events that include Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day, a Build It competition, and more.

    Registration for the award-winning Mini Canes Recreational Sports Camp at the Herbert Wellness Center begins on Monday, March 21. The camp is open to boys and girls ages 6 through 12, with daily activities ranging from swimming lessons to arts and crafts. | more
