Three of the University of Miami’s top faculty members will be honored on Tuesday, March 29 at 5 p.m. in Storer Auditorium at the School of Business Administration, when the Faculty Senate hosts a combined ceremony for its top awards: the James W. McLamore Outstanding Service Award, the Outstanding Teaching Award, and the Distinguished Faculty Scholar Award. | more |

Colombia Connections
University of Miami President Donna E. Shalala accepted the Colombian Congressional Medal of Honor on behalf of the institution during a March 1 ceremony at Constitution Hall in Bogotá. The ceremony was part of a recent three-day trip to Bogotá and Cartagena, Colombia, that was taken by a UM contingent of Shalala, top administrators, and scholars to help solidify existing partnerships with hospitals and teaching institutions in the South American country. | more |

Marlins Mania
Marlins mania hit the University of Miami’s Coral Gables campus on Wednesday, the first day of ticket distribution for the Sixth Annual UM Family Night with the Marlins, which this year will take place on Saturday, April 23 at Sun Life Stadium. Employees lined up on the Foote University Green near the Richter Library, picking up their tickets for what will be the last Family Night at Sun Life Stadium. Next year the event will move to the Marlins’ new ballpark near downtown Miami. | more |
