Scientists embark on research to gather data, build predictive models to track oil spills

More than two months after BP’s damaged oil well was permanently sealed, a team of scientists from the University of Miami and elsewhere has embarked on research that will help predict the path of future spills and improve models that provide coastal regions with early-warning forecasts of the potential course of spilled crude. | more

Veterans Day tribute to honor men and women of the armed forces

A special Veterans Day ceremony on Thursday, November 11 at 10 a.m. at the Rhodes House on UM’s Coral Gables campus will honor the men and women of the armed forces. As part of the tribute, the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps, Detachment 155, will dedicate a model F-22 Raptor to be installed at their offices. | more
