SEEDS luncheon with President Shalala is this Wednesday

SEEDS (Scientists and Engineers Expanding Diversity and Success) will host its annual lunch with University of Miami President Donna E. Shalala on Wednesday, November 17 from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Hurricane 100 Room at BankUnited Center. The event will give women from all UM campuses the opportunity to network, learn the results of the SEEDS Climate Survey, and hear remarks by President Shalala. | more

Dean Goldschmidt honored with Poder’s Outstanding Citizenship Award

Miller School of Medicine Dean Pascal J. Goldschmidt received the Outstanding Citizenship Award from Poder magazine and the Americas Business Council (ABC) Foundation on November 9, joining an elite group of global leaders who were honored for their “remarkable strategy, vision, and execution in their respective businesses and organizations.” | more

UM’s Visual Identity Program: compliance and assistance

Last year the University of Miami instituted its new visual identity program. It is important that all areas throughout the University adhere to the new system so the institution is represented in a uniform and consistent fashion. The system’s signatures, logos, and type fonts are the only authorized marks to be used in all University communications and must be used in accordance with the University’s guidelines. | more

Every year for the last decade, hundreds of Miami-Dade’s most powerful women gather at the United Way Women’s Leadership Breakfast in the spirit of philanthropy and community improvement. At the 10th annual incarnation of the event, held this past Wednesday, November 10, at UM’s BankUnited Center, 1,000 prominent women gathered to celebrate a decade of giving in support of education, income and health programs, and services in the community. | more

Department of Theatre Arts presents ‘Hedda Gabler’

Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen has been lauded as one of the most significant dramatists of the modern theatre for his unflinching realism, his controversial subject matter, and his revolutionary portrayal of women as independent thinkers.
