NFL and Morehouse School of Medicine to hold Community Huddle at UM

The University of Miami will serve as the site of an important town hall forum that addresses the mental health challenges faced by athletes and people in the community. NFL Community Huddle: Taking a Goal Line Stand for Your Mind and Body, an initiative of the Satcher Health Leadership Institute at Morehouse School of Medicine and the National Football League, will be held on Monday, December 6 at 7 p.m. at the UM Fieldhouse. | more

The Office of Planning and Institutional Research and the Office of Accreditation and Assessment have merged to become the Office of Planning, Institutional Research, and Assessment (PIRA). As of today, December 6, the office’s new location is in the Gables One Tower. | more

    Karen Young, assistant professor of clinical pediatrics in the Division of Neonatology at the Miller School, is the 2010 recipient of the prestigious Micah Batchelor Award for Excellence in Children’s Health Research.     In honor of Art Basel Miami Beach, the Department of Art and Art History in the College of Arts and Sciences will present Mechanomorphic: The Environmentally Minded Man\Machine. Mechanomorphia, or the concept of the machine changing into something else over time, questions man’s relationship to the machine and to nature. Artists working around this theme will consider how the machine’s relationship to the environment has changed in our contemporary context. | more
