A generous grant from Wells Fargo will help UM’s RJ Dunlap Marine Conservation Program inspire youth to learn STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) skills, adopt conservation attitudes and behaviors, and build awareness about marine ecology and conservation, particularly in relation to shark species. | more

    Career Exploration
    A tour of the University of Miami’s Coral Gables campus and visits to the Toppel Career Center and College of Engineering were just some of the highlights of a daylong field trip for about 60 students from Charles Drew Middle School in Liberty City on May 30. By day's end, many of the students had a better grasp of college life and the career paths they hope to pursue. The trip was organized by the Miami Children’s Initiative, a nonprofit aimed at improving the lives of children from the underserved Liberty City community.
