Career Exploration
A tour of the University of Miami’s Coral Gables campus and visits to the Toppel Career Center and College of Engineering were just some of the highlights of a daylong field trip for about 60 students from Charles Drew Middle School in Liberty City on May 30. By day's end, many of the students had a better grasp of college life and the career paths they hope to pursue. The trip was organized by the Miami Children’s Initiative, a nonprofit aimed at improving the lives of children from the underserved Liberty City community.
