Dream Team of Magic Johnson, Miller School, and Clear Health Alliance Fights HIV/AIDS
Twenty years ago, Earvin “Magic” Johnson teamed with the likes of Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, and other NBA greats to form a United States “Dream Team” that won the gold medal in basketball at the 1992 Barcelona Games. Now the legendary point guard, who announced that he was HIV positive shortly before that historic achievement, is part of a new “Dream Team” dedicated to fighting the disease. | more |

Boosting Miami’s Economic Future
Enhancing Miami’s economic growth through the creation of jobs and increasing the region’s ability to grow its trade prominence and become more competitive in the global marketplace was the topic of a major forum hosted by the University of Miami on June 19. Featuring business, civic, political, and foreign leaders, “Going Global: Boosting Miami’s Economic Future” was the third in a series of domestic and international forums being convened this year by the Global Cities Initiative, a $10 million, five-year joint project of the Brookings Institution and JPMorgan Chase. Surfing the Internet on Your Smartphone? Be Wary of Security Threats
Compromised websites are targeting Android tablets and smartphones with a suspicious app called “NotCompatible.” Users simply visit the website from their device and the app can be downloaded without their consent or knowledge. According to mobile security firm Lookout Inc., “a device infected with NotCompatible could potentially be used to gain access to protected information or systems such as those maintained by enterprise or government.” | more
