Study to Investigate Role Florida’s Deep Coral Reefs Play in Fisheries, Ecosystems
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s National Centers for Coastal Ocean Science has awarded a grant to the University of Miami to investigate how the deep coral reefs of Pulley Ridge may replenish key fish species and other organisms in the downstream reefs of the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary and Tortugas Ecological Preserve. | more |

UM vs. Duke Matchup Slated as Employee Day Football Game
The Miami Hurricanes’ Homecoming Day matchup versus the Duke Blue Devils on Saturday, November 5 at Sun Life Stadium has been designated the 2011 Verizon Wireless Employee Day football game. All full-time and part-time benefited employees as well as contract employees can receive one free ticket and have the opportunity to purchase up to three additional tickets for only $1 each. Johnson and Williams Named to Wooden Award Watch List
Shenise Johnson and Riquna Williams, who formed a dynamic backcourt duo that led the University of Miami women’s basketball team to an NCAA Tournament appearance last season, have been named to the Women’s Preseason Watch List for the John R.
