Groundbreaking Ceremony Held for New Student Activities Center
With more than 200 people in attendance, the University of Miami held a ceremonial groundbreaking on October 28 for its Student Activities Center. The state-of-the-art, 119,000-square-foot complex will include gathering places, programming space, a student organizations suite, retail outlets, and a new Rathskeller when it is completed in 2013. | more |

DOE Grant Benefits UM Engineering Students and Local Manufacturers
A $1 million grant from the U.S. Department of Energy will help University of Miami College of Engineering students assist small and medium-sized local manufacturers in managing their energy requirements, reducing waste, and increasing productivity associated with manufacturing processes.
