Blackstone LaunchPad Program Developed at UM to Train Ohio’s Next Generation of Entrepreneurs
Ever since the University of Miami created The Launch Pad, the program’s distinctive approach to entrepreneurship education has served as a model for and benefited students at other institutions around the nation. Now, in the latest indication of the UM Launch Pad’s success, the Blackstone Charitable Foundation and The Burton D. Morgan Foundation have announced a $3.2 million, three-year partnership to train the next generation of entrepreneurs in Northeast Ohio. | more |

Hurricane Student-Athletes Establish New GSR Mark
The University of Miami continues to make strides in academic progress, raising the bar yet again in the Graduation Success Rate (GSR) of its student-athletes. The NCAA recently announced the GSR for all member institutions, with UM setting an Athletics Department-wide record with a GSR of 89 percent, a three percent increase over last year. | more |

A Thanksgiving Celebration of International Proportion
It began more than 25 years ago as a way for faculty and staff of the Intensive English Program to share Thanksgiving with their students. Today, International Thanksgiving is one of the oldest traditions of the Division of Continuing and International Education. Over the years it has grown into a large, multicultural potluck feast. On November 18, IEP students shared food from their homelands, their culture, and their talents with invited guests and other students in the program. | more |
