A new study by the School of Business Administration’s Department of Marketing has found that shoppers are missing out on the best deals because they lack basic math skills. Experts Meet to Discuss Challenges Faced by an Aging Population
A panel of national and local experts, including University of Miami President Donna E. Shalala, convened on August 8 to discuss the challenges and opportunities of a rapidly growing senior population and how older adults and those who care for and about them can confront the challenges honestly and with purpose. The town hall-style event, held at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts, came on the heels of a recent survey from UnitedHealthcare, the National Council on Aging, and USA Today that shows that baby boomers, while optimistic about aging and confident that the next phase of their lives will be better than the last, are concerned about their financial future and long-term health costs.
