Poor Sebastian. When the beloved mascot stepped on the University seal, the Department of Real Estate and Facilities filed a complaint with University of Miami Police, who took him into custody on Thursday, November 21, not far from the scene of his audacious act in front of the UC Bookstore. But thanks to the generosity of students, staff and faculty who donated to his bail fund, Sebastian was sprung just two hours later. | more |

Game Times Set for Women’s Basketball Thanksgiving Tourney
The University of Miami women’s basketball will serve up healthy portions of jump shots, fancy dribbling, and three-pointers when they host their Thanksgiving tournament on Friday and Saturday, November 29-30. Miami vs. St. Francis Brooklyn tips off on Friday at 1 p.m., followed by Missouri vs. Hartford at 3 p.m. The championship game will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. | more

The Miami Hurricanes and Cincinnati Bearcats will play a home-and-home series for the 2014 and 2015 seasons. Miami will host Cincinnati at Sun Life Stadium in 2014 before making the return trip to Nippert Stadium in 2015. | more

Embracing Change: An Evening with George Takei
George Takei, the actor, author, activist, and social media mega-power who rose from internment camp inmate to one of the most powerful voices for equal rights and social change in America, will bring his message to the Student Activities Center at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, December 3.
