Using GPS-equipped drifters, ocean dye, and other high-tech equipment, Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science researchers are leading the three-week SCOPE – Surfzone Coastal Oil Pathways Experiment – in Florida’s Panhandle to track ocean currents and better understand how oil might come ashore if another oil spill threatens the coast. | more

Six Hurricanes Football Players Named All-ACC

Linebacker Denzel Perryman, who anchored the Miami Hurricanes’ defense with 104 tackles—including 65 solo stops—and punter Pat O’Donnell, whose 47.3-yard average ranks third in the nation, lead a group of six UM players named to the 2013 All-Atlantic Coast Conference football teams. Perryman and O’Donnell were named to the first team. Running back Duke Johnson, wide receiver Allen Hurns, and offensive guard Brandon Linder were named to the second team, and quarterback Stephen Morris to the third. | more

Four Miami Hurricanes have been named to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference Volleyball Team.
