Stem Cell Institute Receives $25M Donation
The Interdisciplinary Stem Cell Institute (ISCI) has received a $25 million donation from the Soffer Family Foundation to support the continued exploration of new cell-based therapies for cardiology, sports medicine, and aging-related conditions. To honor the largest gift in ISCI history, the Clinical Research Building will be renamed “The Don Soffer Clinical Research Center.” | more

New Signs Identify Gender-Neutral and Inclusive Restrooms
To ensure that people of all gender identities and expressions have access to a safe, comfortable environment when nature calls, the University has labeled a dozen single-stall bathrooms on the Coral Gables campus as either “gender-neutral” or “inclusive,” with signs forthcoming at the Rosenstiel School. “Inclusive” means the restroom is also ADA compliant and suitable for families. | more

Hurricanes Honor Players, Head to the Sun Bowl
The Hurricanes coaching staff, who will lead the football squad to El Paso, Texas, to face Washington State in the 2015 Hyundai Sun Bowl on Saturday, December 26, honored 25 players at the annual ’Canes Football Awards Ceremony, naming quarterback Brad Kaaya the Jack Harding Team Most Valuable Player and cornerback Corn Elder’s jaw-dropping 75-yard touchdown run over Duke the No. 1 play of the 8-4 regular season.
