A New Semester, a New Era, and a New Journey Begins
The fall semester begins today, following a whirlwind week when Julio Frenk took the reins as UM’s sixth president and 1,800 freshmen joined the family of ’Canes. Frenk and the Class of 2019 enjoyed many firsts over the week—including their first ’Canes Kickoff at the BankUnited Center, where the former Harvard dean delivered his first welcome address, and the newcomers were introduced to UM’s cheerleaders, Band of the Hour, Sunsations dancers, and much more.
