Dear University of Miami Community,

As we prepare to celebrate Earth Day this Friday, I want to share with you a Climate Change Special Report developed by University Communications. This comprehensive, interactive website showcases the work of our scientists, researchers, faculty, students, staff, and alumni in the areas of climate change and sustainability.

During my listening exercise, climate change and sea-level rise were often brought up in discussion. In my inaugural address, I noted that we aspired to be the Relevant University by building bridges from scholarship to solutions. With all 11 schools and colleges represented in this report, the University of Miami is uniquely positioned to make global contributions that will help us to better understand and deal with the impact of climate change and sea-level rise.

Please take a few moments to review the Climate Change Special Report, and reflect on how you can make a difference in preserving our planet.

I also invite you to join me this Friday at noon at the 10th annual Hug the Lake event around Lake Osceola to commemorate Earth Day at the U.
