The University of Miami, one of the nation’s leading private research universities, is governed by a Board of Trustees that includes many of South Florida’s most prominent business and community leaders. Founded in 1925, the University appointed a Board of Regents in 1926; in 1934 the University was reincorporated and the Board of Trustees was established. Today the board has 48 elected members, three alumni representatives, 23 senior members, 4 national members, 6 ex-officio members, 14 emeriti members, and one student representative. | more
