Kids and families can discover the remarkable world of photography while exploring the exhibitions, Through the Lens: Photography from the Permanent Collection and Arnold Newman: Photographic Legacy. During the Family Gallery Tour, learn how photography has changed over the years, and discover what are now called "vintage cameras." Kids and families can create photo collages and decorate a frame for their collage. Lowe members free; non-members $5.


Upcoming Events at the University of Miami

June 12 - 14 TULPAN - After serving in the Russian navy, Asa, a young dreamer, begins a nomadic life in the desolate Hunger Steppe of Kazakhstan to begin his new life as a shepherd. In addition, Asa courts an alluring and mysterious neighbor, Tulpan, the only eligible bachelorette for miles. The industrious Asa will stop at nothing to prove himself and his potential to Tuplan with the aid of his sidekick Bonie, a group of mischievous children, and a hoard of adorable animals. Offering a mix of ethnography, comedy, and romance, TULPAN captures the mysterious and poetic nature of everyday life and everyday people. June 12 - 14 REVANCHE – Alex (Johannes Krisch), an ex-con, works as an assistant in a brothel and becomes infatuated with Tamara (Irina Potapenko), a Ukrainian hooker. As their professions might suggest, this is not a simple love story. The couple's plan of escape from the brothel and their past lives is interrupted when after a chaotic and fatal bank robbery, Alex and Tamara's lives become intertwined with the lives of Robert (Andreas Lust), a rural policeman, and his seemingly content wife (Ursula Strauss). These four lonely souls become tangled in mutual desires for escape, contentment, and revenge. Admission is $6 for all University of Miami alumni, faculty, and staff, and is free for students. Herbert Wellness Center Launches Summer Golf League

GolfThe staff at the Herbert Wellness Center is organizing a seven-week summer golf league at the Biltmore golf course. Participants will tee off every Thursday at 4 p.m. beginning on Thursday, June 11. The cost is $23 per round, and the deadline to register is the Monday before Thursday play. Participants can play as many times as they’d like—all seven weeks or just one. To sign up, go to room 210 of the Herbert Wellness Center located on the Coral Gables campus. Tuesdays with Toppel: “The Search Party”

Beginning Tuesday, June 23rd, the University of Miami’s Toppel Career Center will begin hosting a series of networking events called Tuesdays with Toppel. The events will take place in the Coral Gables community, and will provide opportunities for University of Miami alumni and employer representatives to network informally in a variety of settings.

Tuesdays with Toppel: “The Search Party” is the kick-off event and will be held on June 23, for the "Power Hour" 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Morton’s The Steakhouse for “Power Hour” right off of Miracle Mile. Whether searching for a job or simply searching for information, you will meet and greet local employers while enjoying your favorite cocktails and bar bites. The cost is $10 in advance and $15 at the door. Each person will be provided one complimentary drink ticket and be entered into a drawing for a $50 gift certificate to Morton’s. Join the Atlanta Hurricane and Alumni Club for ’Canes Night At The Theater with a performance of Midsummer Night’s Dream at Georgia Shakespeare on Friday, June 19. There will be a pre-performance reception at 7:00 p.m. The performance begins at 8:00 p.m. Even if you cannot attend the performance, please feel free to attend the pre-show reception. The evening will take place at Georgia Shakespeare at Oglethorpe University, 4484 Peachtree Road, NE, Atlanta, GA 30319. Parking is complimentary.

Club member, Marisol Arguelles, has arranged discount tickets for University of Miami Alumni. The special alumni discount will make any ticket priced at $33 or $38 just $30 plus sales tax. $15, non-discounted tickets are also available.

Alumni Weekend and Homecoming is a time where the University invites all alumni back home. In addition to events that appeal to everyone, Alumni Weekend provides an opportunity to get together with friends who were at UM at the same time and shared similar experiences. The weekend will be filled with events reminiscent of your time as a student at UM such as: life-long learning classes at the Audrey R. Finkelstein UM Experience, the homecoming parade, a reunion block-party on Alumni Avenue, the time honored boat burning and fireworks, and the festive tailgate party at the Pregame Celebration before the Hurricanes take on the Virginia Cavaliers.
