Finkelstein UM Experience, Alumni Avenue, Homecoming Parade, Hurricane Howl, and more! Join us for Trick –or- Treating at Alumni Avenue and wear your Halloween costume to celebrate this spook-tacular Homecoming with us! Don’t forget to come to our Pregame Celebration before the Homecoming game between your Miami Hurricanes and the North Carolina Tar Heels, on Saturday, November 1, 2014, held at Gate C of Sun Life Stadium. The Pregame Celebration will occur 2.5 hours before kickoff and feature a pep rally with the Band of the Hour, Cheerleaders, and Sebastian. Food and non-alcoholic drinks will be provided. Dan HarrisJoin us for a lecture and conversation with Dan Harris, Emmy Award-winning correspondent for ABC News, Nightline co-anchor, and author of the New York Times Bestseller: 10% Happier: How I Tamed the Voice in my Head, Reduced Stress without Losing my Edge, and Found Self-Help that Really Works- A True Story.

Registration is required for this event. Please email jjacober@miami.edu to register. This lecture takes place on Wednesday, September 17 at 5:30 p.m. at the Newman Alumni Center located at 6200 San Amaro Drive on the Coral Gables campus.

This lecture is part of the Mindfulness Lecture Series of the UMindfulness Research & Practice Initiative (mindfulness.miami.edu). The Initiative is an interdisciplinary collaboration across the University of Miami to engage novel implementation and cutting-edge brain research on mindfulness/contemplative training.

A Mindful Miami Conference

Join us for an extraordinary symposium of expert presentations and panel discussions about how to better serve our community of children as well as our community at large. This powerful exploration will be led by distinguished experts in the fields of healthcare, education, criminal justice, mental illness, and mindfulness.

Keynote speaker, George Mumford, Former Mindfulness Coach to the Chicago Bulls and the L.A. Lakers will present "Mindfulness in Medicine, Education, Sports and the Workplace".

This conference is scheduled for Saturday, October 18 from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., at the Student Activities Center located at 1330 Miller Drive on the Coral Gables campus.
