Assessment Strategy

The changes in students’ understanding will be assessed based on an analysis of their initial thinking, versus their thinking after in depth discussions with other students and the teacher, and research into the issues using primary sources. It is expected that students will show a greater understanding of the ethical issues around slavery, a better understanding of the historical events and implications of those events, and greater understanding of their own values and intentions about slavery. Please see individual activities for specific assessments.
