Gary Dunbar has a background in corporate public relations, events management, purchasing and finance.

He joined UM’s Psychiatry Department in 1992, performing data management, public relations and meeting planning for an HIV research study. In 1997 he became coordinator of acupuncture activities in Psychiatry’s Division of Complementary Medicine where he managed a research study, clinic and CME courses for physicians and other health care professionals.

He joined the Ethics Programs in 2000 and served as the Ethics Programs Administrator from 2000 - 2009.
