Sergio Litewka, M.D., M.P.H.
Originally from Argentina, Sergio Litewka, M.D., M.P.H., is a visiting scholar at the UM Ethics Programs.
His fields of expertise include health reform policies in Latin American countries, healthcare access for vulnerable population and the evaluation of health reform processes.
During the 1990's he directed a think tank studying resource allocation and bioethics in Argentina, the Centro de Estudios de Etica Medica Aplicada a Los Recursos (CEMAR; Center for the study of ethical issues in resource allocation in healthcare). CEMAR was also a bimonthly publication from 1995 until 1997.
Dr. Litewka has additionally been a visiting scholar at the University of Virginia's Bioethics Program.
Dr. Litewka is working in projects related to human-subject protection and conflicts of interests in international biomedical research in Latin America and the Caribbean.
