Health Information Privacy and Security (HIPS)

In collaboration with the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI), the University of Miami Ethics Programs offer online Health Information Privacy and Security (HIPS) courses for compliance with federal, state and other training requirements. The HIPS courses are part of our Privacy Project.

If you are affiliated with an institution that is a CITI member you can access the HIPS materials without charge by visiting the CITI site at www.citiprogram.org. Your course completions and quiz scores will be reported back to your institution's CITI coordinator. If your institution is not a member of CITI, you can still access the materials without charge by visiting the Privacy Project site. (However, this public site does not offer completion certificates or quiz score reporting.)

University of Miami affiliates should access HIPS materials using the CITI site. Note that CITI/HIPS materials are not approved to meet UM HIPAA training requirements, except for medical students.
