Jason Borenstein, Ph.D., is the Director of Graduate Research Ethics Programs and co-Director of the Center for Ethics and Technology at Georgia Tech.  During his time at Georgia Tech, he has taught graduate courses on the subject of the responsible conduct of research (RCR) and undergraduate courses such as Ethical Theories, Ethics & the Technical Professions, Philosophy of Science, and Science & Values in the Policy Process.  His current research interests include ethics assessment, conflicts of interest, human subjects research, evolution & intelligent design, and the ethics of emerging technologies.

In 2001, Dr. Borenstein earned his doctorate in philosophy from the University of Miami. His dissertation, entitled Expertise and the Courts, examined philosophical issues associated with expert witness testimony.  During the summer of 2001, he worked as a Christine Mirzayan Intern for the Science, Technology, and Law Program within the National Academy of Sciences. In 2000, he worked as a summer intern for AAAS's Scientific Freedom, Responsibility and Law Program where he designed web pages, reviewed manuscripts, and worked on the Court-Appointed Experts Project (CASE).
