Reid Cushman, Ph.D., is Director of Operations for the UM Department of Medical Information Technology, and a Research Assistant Professor in UM's Department of Medicine. He has developed the University's privacy and data protection Website..

Dr. Cushman received his training in economics and political science at the University of Virginia. He was a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation health policy fellow at Yale University and the University of California at San Francisco, and a lecturer at the Goldman School of Public Policy, University of California at Berkeley.

Dr. Cushman has written numerous articles on the use (and misuse) of information technology in health care and education, and on privacy issues for those sectors. His current research is in the area of digital educational tools and content.
