No National Bioethics Commission yet exists although there is in place a national law (Ministerial Resolution 0126 from 2003) authorizing the establishment of one.

There is no reference in national laws pertaining to the management of clinical trials and research ethics, although there is a publication from the Ministry of Public Health dated 2003 titledResearch Ethics and Guidelines for Clinical Trials.
