SUMMER RESEARCH EXPERIENCE at the University of Miami

A PROGRAM DEDICATED TO RESEARCH AND OPPORTUNITY
The University of Miami is the largest private research
university in the Southeast, located in the plush suburb of Coral Gables,
Florida. The "UM NSF SBE Summer Research Experience" offers
extraordinary opportunities for research, personal growth, networking,
and social interaction for undergraduates who are interested in pursuing
research-oriented careers.
During the ten weeks in the UM NSF SBE Summer Research Experience,
you will be engaged by faculty who are leaders in their respective
fields. These faculty members value intellectual curiosity and will
challenge you to grow personally. Both teaching and learning will
be "hands on, early on." |
During the UM NSF SBE Summer Research Experience
you will:
- Learn and conduct research with mentors in on-going, active,
University of Miami research initiatives
- Utilize a range of specialized
libraries and laboratories while conducting experiments
- Collaborate
with mentors who are leaders in their respective fields
- Analyze
research methods and results
- Participate in weekly seminars and
networking sessions designed to introduce you to leaders and
concepts in your field
of study
- Attend National Science Foundation (NSF) events
- Gain experience
by presenting your research alongside undergraduate and graduate
scholars

FINANCIAL SUPPORT IS GIVEN TO PARTICIPANTS
All students participating will receive a full scholarship, a stipend
and on-campus living and travel expenses. |
ELIGIBILITY
The University of Miami is seeking a diverse pool of applicants including
African American, Hispanic, and American Indian students who will
be juniors and seniors in Fall 2010. Click here for

PROGRAM SIZE & SELECTIVITY
10 undergraduate students are selected for this program. Admission
is highly competitive. |
