Margot Winick, AVP, Media Relations

Margot Winick has spent more than a decade working on both sides of the media. For the past 11 years, Winick has handled all aspects of media relations for UM’s Coral Gables campus for the University’s central communications division. With a bachelor’s degree in broadcasting from the University's School of Communication and a master’s in liberal studies from the College of Arts and Sciences, she has worked for The Miami Herald, where she was a writer and copy editor on the news and features desks and was part of the team that won the 1993 Pulitzer Prize Gold Medal for Meritorious Public Service for coverage of Hurricane Andrew; Susan Brustman and Associates Public Relations, where she focused on promoting the arts, culture, and food scene in Miami and Miami Beach; Burger King’s corporate headquarters, where she worked in the communications and marketing division; and WTVJ-TV interning in nightly news production. She is an adjunct professor in the School of Communication and is also a voice-over artist.
