HAVE
A BIG HEART? THEN HEAD TO LITTLE HAITI
The
2003 United Way of Miami-Dade County Workday Kickoff
Project, "Big Hearts in Little Haiti," is
8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Thursday, August 14. A portion
of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard (N.W. 62nd Street
between I-95 East to NW 2nd Avenue) will be revitalized
by volunteers who will spend the day landscaping, painting
the interior and exterior of buildings, painting murals,
creating gardens, and repairing picnic benches and installing
new ones. Each year as part of our own United Way Campaign,
the University sends a team of volunteers to participate.
If you would like to join the team, obtain approval
from your supervisor and then visit http://www.miami.edu/unitedway
for more information and a sign-up form.
