DESMOND CHILD AT SCHOOL OF MUSIC
The
art of songwriting will be featured center stage at
the School of Music when Desmond Child's "Master
Class in Songwriting" is presented at the Maurice
Gusman Concert Hall, 7 p.m., Thursday, November 21.
Child, known for writing and producing Ricky Martin's
#1 worldwide smash hits Livin' La Vida Loca and
The Cup of Life will be joined by guest artist
Andreas Carlson, known for writing N'Sync's #1 hit Bye,
Bye, Bye. The evening will consist of an informal
setting and discussions on the craft of songwriting
as well as a Q&A from the audience. The event is
free and open to the public. Seating is limited. For

NEW
PROGRAM PUTS MUSCLE
INTO
SCIENCE EDUCATION
A
new program by the School of Education is taking childrens
fascination with sports, games and physical activity
to the next level. The Laboratory of Clinical &
Applied Physiology has launched a pilot project at Ponce
de Leon Middle School, 5801 Augusto Street, in Coral
Gables to help provide students a better understanding
of the link between science and physical education.
