President Bill Clinton and Former Vice President
Al Gore Speak on Coral Gables Campus This Week
The University is privileged to host two very special events this week with former Vice President of the United States Al Gore on Wednesday, February 28, and President Bill Clinton on Thursday, March 1. Both events will be held at the BankUnited Center on the Coral Gables campus.
A guest for the University Lecture Series, Gore will present "An Inconvenient Truth," a multimedia version of his bestselling book and Academy Award-winning documentary on global warming. The event starts promptly at 6:30 p.m., with doors opening at 5:30 p.m.
President Clinton will be the guest at Spring Convocation and is expected to discuss, among other topics, the Clinton Global Initiative, a non-partisan effort to develop and implement innovative solutions to some of the world’s most pressing challenges. The event starts promptly at 4 p.m., with doors opening at 3 p.m.
Traveling to the venue: take shuttles or public transportation
Due to the overwhelming response to these events, there will be heavy vehicular traffic on all roads around the BankUnited Center, particularly Ponce De Leon Boulevard and U.S. 1. Please note: There will be no parking at the venue or in the lots adjacent to and surrounding the immediate area. All members of the University community on the Coral Gables campus should use the Hurry 'Canes shuttles to travel to the BankUnited Center. If you are on the Miller School campus or elsewhere in the community, you are strongly advised to travel by Metrorail to the BankUnited Center; the University Metrorail station is directly across the street from the venue.
No tickets left for events
There are no remaining tickets for these events. Ticket holders are strongly advised to be in their seats early. Late seating will be extremely restricted.
