Freshman Hammond Scholars
Welcome to the U!
We’re excited to welcome our incoming Freshmen Hammond Scholars. The Class of 2017 is proving to be an engaging and motivated group brimming with optimism and possibility. There are 36 freshmen scholars each who have demonstrated academic excellence and commitment throughout high school. We are looking forward to supporting their aspirations as many will continue their academic pursuits through graduate education. On September 12th they attended the Woodson-Williams-Marshall Association (WWMA) faculty, staff, and student mixer sponsored by the Department of Multicultural Student Affairs as a part of their Student Success Series. The WWMA is comprised of the black faculty at the University of Miami and serves as a resource to black students at UM.
