I came to further develop my understanding of marine ecosystems and the surrounding influences. I have always had a huge interest in sharks so that is why I chose to come and get some experience working in the field in such an exciting research station.

I've been enjoying my stay at the lab for more than a month now and I am absolutely excited about being at my adopted home -Bimini- again. To stay close to sharks, admire the unique natural beauty and observe the island, that means “Living a Dream” for me. Besides amazing shark work, I hope to contribute to mangrove populations and keep an eye on BB. If anyone wants to walk to East Wells, let me know.

Growing up near the ocean, marine biology has always been a point of interest in my life. I knew that coming to the Sharklab was a once in a lifetime opportunity, so I had to try. I'm looking forward to an exciting summer. |

I grew up on the water in South FL and South Bimini as a kid and I've had my best memories here. Came to make some more memories that include tons of sharks! |

I’ve had a lifelong passion to work with sharks and being at BBFS is a dream realized. I am just finishing up my B.Sc. in Zoology and from there I am hoping that I can make shark conservation and education my lifelong career wherever that takes me. Sharks are such magnificent predators that hold up the food chain, but through our ignorance we are destroying that chain. This is why I have made it my goal to make some sort of positive influence with, or educate both politicians and young people into protecting these keystone animals. |

I came to the Sharklab to get hands on experience with sharks. I want to be a marine veterinarian one day and I thought this would be good to see the handling of these animals.

I am currently a senior at the University of Alabama. I am a double major in Marine Science and Biology. I love sharks, and can’t wait to swim with and study more of them. Roll Tide!

I have always been really interested in sharks even when I was little. The Sharklab seemed like a really good place to get hands on experience doing what I love at a real field lab. |

Growing up by the coast, I have always loved marine life and especially sharks!! I wanted to further my experience and knowledge for sharks at the lab and in an incredible place like Bimini, to help with my marine biology major. Field work here is amazing! I hope to return to the Sharklab after I graduate. |

Originally, I came to the Sharklab in an attempt to discover my own ambitions regarding my future career/continued education. In addition, I’d like to get better acquainted with boats and other gear. It has also been my lifelong dream to be stuffed into a hot closet with 3 other guys and bunk beds. Eventually, I intend to discover the legendary half shark-alligator, half man. Until then, I suppose that 6 weeks of intense shark research will have to do.

I went out with Doc last year for the Marquesas Trip and loved it. I've worked with nurse sharks in the Florida Keys with MOTE (Mote Marine Laboratory) and ever since then I've wanted to pursue a career in Shark biology. Turtles, whales and dolphins get too much of the attention.
