Nurse Midwifery

The nurse-midwifery class at the University of Miami, admitted in 1978, instituted the first Nurse Midwifery education program in the state of Florida. This four-semester program is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education formally known as the ACNM Division of Accreditation located at 8403 Colesville Road, Suite 1550, Silver Spring, MD 20910-6374. The program provides a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with a specialty in nurse-midwifery and eligibility to take the national certification examination given by the American Board of Midwifery formally known as the American College of Nurse Midwives Certification Council (ACC).
