In The Community
Miami’s unique mix of cultures and ethnicities combined with its proximity to urban, suburban, and rural settings provides School of Nursing and Health Science students with unique experiences in the areas of clinical education, research, and community service. Our global community extends from the neighborhoods of Little Havana and Little Haiti to partnerships with schools and clinics in the Caribbean and South America.
As the oldest baccalaureate nursing program in the region, the school enjoys a vast network of more than 170 clinical partners—from hospitals, ambulatory clinics, and day care centers to assisted living facilities, public schools, county health departments, and a range of social service agencies. The richness and diversity of the school’s practice settings contribute to unique learning experiences for UM nursing and health science students.
