Program Highlights




  • Students complete a total of 37 credits in either one year or two years of study.   The tuition for the entire program is approximately $36,000 and opportunities for financial assistance are available.  Plans of study are “lock-step” and students begin and end their programs with a cohort of students.  
  • Classes are taught by the University of Miami’s prestigious faculty who are unique because they are also in clinical practice.  Their level of clinical expertise translates into education that is scientific, evidence-based, and patient-centered.   
  • Students in the Family Nurse Practitioner program are precepted at the UM University Hospital and other area hospitals and community centers including: 
    • ER/Minor care/Triage at Jackson Memorial Hospital (JMH)
    • Minor Care at JMH South
    • Adults at Miami Beach Community Health Center, Miami Hope Health Center, Miami VA and VA clinics, CHI Clinics, Open Door Health Center, Correctional Health Center, UM Family Practice, Dade County Public Health/STD clinic, and Planned Parenthood
    • Pediatrics at Miami Children's, JMH HIV Pediatric Clinic, JMH Pedivan, UM Pediatrics, JMH Pediatric ER
    • Obstetrics at JMH and Jackson South.
  • The program starts each Fall Semester (August).  However, new graduate students participate in an online “boot camp” prior to starting classes to prepare them to take advanced pathophysiology and pharmacology in their first semester.
