Education Certification Program
The Education Certificate Program is designed for BSN and MSN graduates interested in serving as preceptors and clinical instructors. The 4-course program will be offered one evening per week at the University of Miami’s downtown medical campus from January through August 2007. In addition, a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program with a specialty in Education is planned for fall 2007. Graduates of the Education Certification program will be eligible to apply credits to the education specialty.

Program participants will be able to utilize the facilities of the International Academy for Clinical Simulation and Research in the new M. Christine Schwartz Center for Nursing and Health Studies on the University of Miami’s Coral Gables campus. The state-of-the-art academy features a 3-bed simulation suite, a 7-bed adult lab, and a 7-bed pediatric lab capable of replicating a variety of clinical settings—from ICU, CCU, ER, OR/Periansthesia, and Neonatal ICU. Participants will convene at the Schwartz Center for a closing conference featuring student presentations, networking opportunities, and a keynote lecture by a noted nurse educator.
