Nurse Anesthetist Scholars Program

General Information

The University of Miami’s Nurse Anesthetist program admits R.N.s with a B.S.N. degree and at least one year of critical care nursing experience. Unified around the themes of interdisciplinary practice, patient safety, and cultural competency, the 28 month curriculum includes a demanding didactic curriculum, state-of-the-art simulation training, and 45 to 65 hours per week of clinical practica at major academic medical center as well as community sites.

Nurse Anesthetist Scholarship Program

The University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine’s Nurse Anesthetist Scholars Program provides full tuition scholarship at the University of Miami School of Nursing and Health Studies, plus a stipend for books and fees. Applicants selected to receive the scholarship commit to full-time employment at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine hospitals or clinics for a consecutive thirty-six month period following their graduation.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Be admitted to the School of Nursing Nurse Anesthetist Program
  • Maintain full-time enrollment in the School of Nursing Nurse Anesthetist Program
  • Have and maintain a minimum cumulative 3.0 Grade Point Average
  • Graduate and achieve state or national licensure or certification applicable to field

Application Process

  • Scholarship applications will be pre-selected by the Nursing Scholars Program Selection Committee of the Miller School of Medicine.
  • All necessary documents must be submitted together with the scholarship application. Applications will not be accepted if documents are missing.
