SpectrUM is a group that celebrates diversity in sexual orientation and gender identity. Our mission is to foster pride through education, awareness, advocacy and involvement as well as to provide support for all members of the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered and straight community. We also organize activites, all glbt-oriented and straight-friendly for the University of Miami community. The SpectrUM office is located in the University Center in room 244.

The Weekly Meetings @ Thursdays 6:00pm

The main premise for our weekly Thursday Night meetings at 8pm is to provide a safe, social environment for members of spectrUM to socialize and participate in a whole range of activities planned by the group. Rarely are our meetings dominated by an agenda. Meetings are usually held on the second floor of the University Center, with the spectrUm office open at 6pm, and having the larger meeting held in one of the side conference rooms.

Past meetings have included:
*Queer-Dominated, Straight Friendly Bowling
*Coffee Talk with lots of caffeine, sugar, sugar-substitutes, and close personal talks.
*Gayme Night with Twister, Jenga, Cards, and more!
*Banner-Making for campus-wide events

Everyone is welcome to our meetings. The only requirement is your help in fostering a safe, non-hateful environment where everyone can socialize and enjoy themselves.

Membership in spectrUM is confidential. Never will we share any names or information of members with any other person/organization.
