UM's Chi Epsilon Pi



Membership

Both undergraduate-level and graduate-level students at UM will be inducted into Chi Epsilon Pi, subject to the following academic and participatory requirements:

1. EITHER (a) Undergraduate major in meteorology, with a minimum GPA of 3.40 OR (b) Graduate student enrolled at RSMAS graduate school.

2. Coordinate either one invited speaker visit, field trip or a community service event per year.

3. Engage in at least one other community service even or field trip (TV station, National Hurricane Center, National Weather Service, Water Management office, etc.)

4. Attend at least two-thirds of Chi Epsilon Pi/UM Atmospheric Sciences Club meeting per year.

5. Prepare at least 4 forecast discussions per year for the UM team in the national WxChallenge forecast contest.

6. Give at least one 15-minute presentation to Chi Epsilon Pi/UM Atmospheric Sciences Club during the period of membership (for example: on research, a field experiment, or an internship).
