CASA, or Collaborative Adaptive Sensing of the Atmosphere is an NSF funded REU program.
Participants will gain experience in the area of RADAR meteorology.
CASA is a special type of high-resolution small range RADAR with a small scan period, capable of creating a high-resolution picture of the horizontal and vertical structure of atmospheric aerosols with short lead times.

Plenty of people to talk to about this in Atmo Club, so don't be shy.

We currently have two Hollings Scholars in the club, Matt (2008) and Ken (2009), who can answer questions about the scholarship.
The scholarship provides an $8000 stipend per academic year and a summer internship between junior and senior year with $6500 pay at any NOAA facility.
All majors in atmospheric, marine, or related sciences are encouraged to apply.
Over 100 Hollings Scholarships are awarded each year, and UM has had a Meteorology major awarded the scholarship three years in a row.

All majors in atmospheric, marine, or related sciences who meet the criteria are encouraged to apply.
Between 10 and 20 EPP scholarships are awarded each year.
