About CSA

In 1981 the Caribbean Students Association was established at the University of Miami. 27 years later we are still going strong.  The CSA still identifies with the principles on which it was built- to provide a home away from home for Caribbean nationals and descendants, to be the leading body that educates the University of Miami and surrounding community about the true state of the Caribbean and to touch everything we undertake or are a part of with a Caribbean flare.

Presidents of the Caribbean Students Organization are chosen every year and represent the spirit of the Caribbean. From the largest islands to the smallest cays, our presidents bring out the best in the organization and undoubtedly have left their stamp on the organization with their individual island style. Our presidents have come from The Bahamas, the British Virgin Islands, the Turks and Caicos Islands, Jamaica, the United States Virgin Islands and St. Vincent.

In this our 27th year, we continue a legacy of greatness with new and exciting programs and a few older ones that have always brought us good luck. We are defending champions of International Week, whether it be a day or a night, we have been crowned as the top group in the past few years. We crowned our third Miss University of Miami queen in February 2008. For the first time, we held our first Debutante Ball in November and executive members have shared several honors and nominations for their good work.

From hosting what could be considered one the greatest conferences ever hosted for the Florida Caribbean Students Association in the Spring of 2005 to taking over the dining halls of the university to present the most successful dinner night in history, the University of Miami Caribbean Students Association is still going on.

Come see the Caribbean difference!

About our university

North and South, East and West converge in South Florida, creating an energy unlike that of any other location. Ours is a place of economic growth, with thriving business and financial districts - and an abundance of internship opportunities. It is home to a conglomeration of the world's cultures, offering an unparalleled diversity of ethnic backgrounds, religions, cultural traditions and lifestyles. With temperatures averaging 75-80 degrees year round, South Florida offers a never-ending calendar of events.

You can explore sailing on Biscayne Bay, hiking in the Everglades National Park or diving in the Florida Keys. Or maybe you'll venture to South Beach for its art deco architecture, sidewalk performers, world-famous nightclubs or relaxed afternoons by the ocean. Over 40 golf courses, 500 public parks and thousands of miles of paths for biking, jogging or inline skating and the miles of beaches make South Florida an outdoor lover's paradise.
