About Us:
The Islamic Society of
the University of Miami originated primarily to bring together Muslims
of diverse backgrounds and cultures under one unified, organized, proactive
family, as well as to inform the UM and local community about the true
religion of Islam.
ISUM is open to all those who would like to understand, appreciate, practice,
and/or learn about Islam. ISUM also tries to educate about the misconceptions
regarding Islam and the Islamic way of life, and to include anyone willing
to stand up for truth, justice, and peace.
Aside from creating a social community for Muslims, ISUM fosters mental,
physical, and spiritual development through athletic programs, spiritual
discussions, rallies, academic forums, and charity events.
