For first year students, this is a chance to start thinking about future internships and upperclassmen looking for spring internships are sure to find one at this great networking event. The exec board encourages all members to attend, and please do not hesitate to bring a guest. All majors are welcome to come. As already mentioned this event will be held in the UC International Lounge, which is on the second floor of the UC by the Academic Development Center. Admission for official members is free and non- paying members and guests will be asked to pay five dollars. Doors open at 6:30. Please dress business casual and don't forget to bring your resume and business cards if you have them. -------------------------------------- VOLUNTEERS NEEDED If anyone is interested in assisting with the set up for the Fall Mixer, please sign up at our November 17th meeting. If you are unable to attend the meeting, please e-mail mgreco@miami.edu for more information. -------------------------------------- Retraction from previous newsletter: The upcoming Fall Mixer was misnamed as the PRSA/PRSSA mixer, we apologize for the error. -------------------------------------- PRSSA RESUME CRITIQUE TO BE HELD ON NOVEMBER 17TH Need help creating the perfect resume to help you successfully get jobs, internships, or scholarships? Unsure of what makes for good layout? Having a tough time deciding what exactly goes on a resume? If so, come to our Resume Critique on Novermber 17th in Eaton Residential College room 148 at 6:30pm. Dr. Robert Hosmon, the Associate Dean, at the School of Communication, will provide you with resume basics and teach what professionals are looking for in a resume. Bring a draft of your own and compare it to the advice of UM professors. There may also be time to talk one on one and get feedback on your own resume. This is a great preface to our Fall Mixer and the executive board encourages members to attend this event in order to spruce up resumes for professionals! Hope to see you there. -------------------------------------- UM PRSSA EXPANDS As of November 1, 2003 UM PRSSA has 20 fall paying members. In combination with spring semester members, we are now 43 members strong. Membership lasts one year. The deadline for paying spring dues will be announced at the start of the spring semester.
